If a child-member of your family requires hospitalization, Dr. Aponte has admitting privileges at Martin Memorial Health Systems - North and Martin Memorial Hospital - South (South is where the pediatric wing is located) and will monitor your child there. Do ask the hospital staff to contact Dr. Aponte, as your pediatrician.

Should you choose to admit your child to another medical facility, the physician on staff will monitor your child while in the hospital, and will send us a report to ensure continuity of health. Do maintain post-hospital follow-up visits with any specialists that cared for your child while admitted.

Immediately after the admission, it is recommended you follow-up with your insurance company regarding their requirements to reduce your risk of payment problems. If you have an annual deductible on your medical plan, and it has not been met, please note that portions of the hospital visit may be an out-of-pocket expense for your family.

Our physician fees for in-hospital care are separate from those charged by the hospital staff and by specialists attending your child.
