Kid I.D.'s

Cornerstone Pediatrics' goal is to be a resource to our patient-families for raising not just healthy children, but safe children as well. SafeKids provides to families of our practice information and products to keep their children safe, whether at a park, on the internet, or in the kitchen. We believe that establishing safe boundaries for your child is part of raising healthy children. Infants, toddlers and school-aged children should all be fingerprinted and have their DNA stored. Information on speaking with your child about communicating with strangers and proper body touching are also available to our patient-families.

Minimizing the unthinkable of having a lost or missing child is another reason we provide the services from SafeKids. We offer various child identification products. Some items are free of charge, others due to costs, are sold for a nominal fee. Please ask our front desk staff regarding these identification products.

Child Identification Tri-fold is a document for safe storage of detailed information on your child. You can store hair samples, medical information, fingerprints, a photograph and document unique markings on your child's body.

ToothPrints is a small, plastic wafer, that after softening, your child bites into it leaving an accurate dental impression, with enough DNA for testing and sufficient scent for a police dog to track.

ShoePrints are labels that serve as an excellent source of information for children with limited developed communication skills. This is especially helpful for small children who are too young to memorize phone numbers, but can be taught to tell a helpful person to look in their shoe for contact information, if they are ever lost.

Cornerstone Pediatrics hosts annual SKID (SafeKid ID) Event with the help of local Police and Fire Departments.
