Monitoring Kids On Meds:
It is important that a child be carefully monitored when on medication. For your child's safety our providers generally will not order a prescription refill if the patient has not been seen in our office for more than 30 days, or if the child missed a previous follow-up appointment where meds were to be evaluated. Your prescription questions may be emailed to: rx@cornerstonepeds.net, however, only use the refill form for any refill requests, see the link below.

Maintenance Meds:
Prophylactics refills may be obtained by phone, within the allowable refill period prescribed by the physician. Once this period has expired, you will need to schedule an appointment for evaluation of the prescription as related to your child's needs.

Stay Supplied:
If your child takes medication for a chronic condition you should have a minimum of two weeks supply on hand. This will allow you plenty of time to obtain a refill from a pharmacy, or if necessary, schedule a visit with our office.

Prepare For Hurricanes:
In Florida, residents should expect loss of power, wind damage and possible flooding with storms especially hurricanes. A provider may lose phone service and not receive refill requests during a hurricane, and many businesses including pharmacies, may not be opened for business. This is why prior to a storm making landfall, you must be sure that your child has an ample supply of medication. Children with respiratory problems usually experience flare-ups, therefore, any refills should be obtained well advance of the storms arrival. Know Your Local Pharmacy:
If you have a preferred pharmacy where you want your child's prescriptions called into, please be sure to bring the telephone number with you. This will enable our staff to more efficiently forward the prescription to the right location.
